The final week of August is packed with some of the biggest events of the month. If you are staying in the Gulf Shores or Orange Beach area this week, you will have your choice of major country and acoustic rock concerts, plus the chance to see the Navy's premier flight squadron practice nearby.

It is a high-energy end to the summer season that shows how active the regional calendar remains, even as school is back in session.

Jack Johnson & Jason Aldean at The Wharf

The Wharf Amphitheater has two major shows lined up this week. First, on Wednesday, August 26, acoustic singer-songwriter Jack Johnson takes the stage with special guests Lake Street Dive.

Then, on Saturday, August 29, country superstar Jason Aldean brings his tour to Orange Beach, supported by Chase Matthew, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Dee Jay Silver. These back-to-back shows will draw thousands of fans, so plan your transit and parking around The Wharf accordingly.

Blue Angels Mid-Week Practice

On Wednesday, August 26, the Blue Angels have a scheduled practice session at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Many local excursion boats, including the catamaran Wild Hearts based in Orange Beach, offer special viewing cruises so you can watch the jets fly from the water. It is a spectacular way to spend a Wednesday morning.

  • Plan ahead for heavy traffic around Orange Beach on both Wednesday and Saturday evenings due to the concerts.
  • Book boat charters early if you want to watch the Blue Angels practice from the water.
  • Use the quieter morning hours for beach walks or paddleboarding in Little Lagoon.

Buyer Takeaway

This busy event week is a great reminder of why Gulf Coast resort properties are so popular. Condos with extensive pool areas, lazy rivers, and close proximity to dining and entertainment hubs like The Wharf continue to perform exceptionally well as short-term rentals, drawing visitors late into the season.
